Produced in collaboration with DJ Simbad, the hymnal build delivers a serene and assuring ode to self; speaking on patience, healing and self preservation, Lulu's lyrics tell of an unrequited love which cut deep—once robbing her of independence and strength. James told Complex over email: "'Falling' is a song of power, courage and self-awareness. The words just rolled off my tongue, and it all comes from a very honest place. DJ Simbad pulled the magic out of this track by keeping the beat simple and allowing the vocals and harmonies to shine through. We had a great time jamming sounds, but both felt the most important thing was the self-motivational message that this 21st Century soul track offers."
Released via a double A-side EP today, also featuring "It's The Time" (created with award-winning producer Ronni Vindahl), South Shields-raised Lulu is quickly climbing the most prestigious ranks of the production hierarchy. 2017 beckons, and her ascent to the top 10 of chart music positioning now feels imminent.
