Lil Yachty Speaks On His "Old and Washed Up" Haters

Lil Yachty's haters are old and washed up, according to Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty has never been shy about calling out his haters, and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon. In an interview with Bossip at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Yachty had some choice words for those who haven't embraced the new era of hip-hop. “Niggas don’t know how to accept change. They old and washed up. I said it," he said.

This is far from the first time Yachty has gone to war with haters of his style of music. He got called out after admitting to not being familiar with music by Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G., but clapped back on Twitter, writing "I think it's funny how people feel like you HAVE to like something just cause everybody else does... Where in the handbook of hip-hop does it say u must know this list of songs to make music. Lmao."

Some rappers even rushed to his defense. 9th Wonder started an extensive Twitter dialogue about what young people look for when they're finding new music. He called on hip-hop to stop hating on artists like Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, and Young Thug, and to simply let the kids like what they like.

We'll have to see if anyone heeds his advice, but in the meantime, it seems that Lil Yachty himself isn't sweating the vitriol directed at him.
