Desiigner was reportedly arrested in New York City on Thursday night after an alleged "road rage incident," TMZreports. Police told TMZ that Desiigner and four other unnamed individuals were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell. Desiigner, who was accused of pointing a gun at a driver in traffic, was also charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon.
According to TMZ, Desiigner was in an SUV with four other people when an argument broke out with the driver of a separate vehicle. At some point during the argument, the driver called 911 and accused Desiigner of pointing a gun at him. The SUV ultimately left the scene but was later tracked down by police after the other driver relayed the vehicle’s license plate information.
Upon searching the SUV, TMZreports that a "large quantity" of pills was discovered. Sources tell TMZ that Oxycontin was among the drugs recovery from the vehicle, leading to the drug charges. In addition to the drug and weapon charges, Desiigner was also hit with a "menacing" charge for allegedly pulling the weapon on the other driver.
Desiigner has had a busy week in NYC, having attending Kanye West's Yeezy Season 4 presentation as well as the G.O.O.D. Music pop-up show at Highline Ballroom. The star-stacked event saw Kanye announcing Tyga as the newest member of the G.O.O.D. team, with Desiigner linking up with Tyga shortly after for the track "Gucci Snakes."
