It's been an elusive year for Earl Sweatshirt, but it looks like he's finally starting to get back into form with his music releases. After randomly dropping the instrumental track "Pelicula" at the top of August, he's back with raps on "Balance." The track finds him linking up with producer Knxwledge for Adult Swim's Singles series. Although the track only clocks in at a little over a minute, it's all bars from Earl, who delivers his typically morose, pondering lyrics.

"I'm probably the worst nigga to get involved with/These shoulders is not for you to sniffle on," he raps on the only repeated portion of the song, before going into the state of his relationship with his mom. "She asked me about those old times that both of us miss/I said nothing/She asked if I've been smoking again/I told her I probably have to go in a bit."

Another exciting sign of things to come is the recently revealed tracklist for Danny Brown's upcoming album Atrocity Exhibition. The project will feature Brown and Earl alongside Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar, all on the same track. Hopefully, that song and "Balance" are enough to indicate that Earl is back in the studio in a major way. He's been hard to come by ever since he dropped I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside way back in mid-2015.

While we wait to see what he's been up to during his absence, you can stream Earl Sweatshirt and Knxwledge's Adult Swim collaboration "Balance" below via SoundCloud.
