In 2003, Dizzee Rascal released his debut album, Boy In Da Corner, successfully transmitting grime from Bow E3 across the airwaves to the rest of the world. After winning the Mercury Music Prize award that same year, Raskit is now a platinum-selling artist, producer, and label boss at Dirtee Stank all due to the album's impact. On October 20, Dizzee will sit down in conversation at The Yard Theatre. Then, on October 22, he will bring the album back to home turf—in its entirety, as part of the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) tour.
After performing the album at a Red Bull tour in Brooklyn, New York City, calls for the emcee to play the album in London began to gain momentum. Through Laura 'Hyperfrank' Brosnan's near 1500-people backed petition and heartfelt "A Letter To Dizzee" column earlier this year, the message has finally been received. The announcement is massive news for grime fans across the UK and especially those in London—the city the album most embodies.
Tickets go on sale, here, on the week commencing September 5.
