Anticipation is building for Danny Brown's new album Atrocity Exhibition, and in a new interview with Rolling Stone, Danny unleashed a bunch of new information about the project. The most notable announcement was the full tracklist for Atrocity Exhibition, including features.
The project is lighter on features than Danny's last album, Old, but the ones that are there seem like they'll pack a punch. Most notably, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Earl Sweatshirt will all appear on the same song, "Really Doe." Danny and Kendrick previously appeared together on A$AP Rocky's "1Train," but this will be the first collaboration between Kendrick and Earl Sweatshirt. The project will also boast appearances from Kelela, B-Real, and Petit Noir. It runs 14 tracks total and is due out Sept. 30. You can check out the full tracklist here:
Outside of talking about his new album, Danny also discussed the long break between 2013's Old and Atrocity Exhibition while speaking with Rolling Stone, noting that he has space other artists don't since his style is unique. "At the end of the day, it's just something that I really took my time with," he said. "I know this day and age, a lot of artists can't really take time off to make music...they'll get replaced. With me, [I'm] somebody that's able to sit down and be able to take my time, 'cause ain't nobody gonna be out here sounding like me, ain't nobody gonna be out here doing what I do. I'm confident in this project to know that I'mma satisfy the people that's already fans of my music. So if you're a fan of Danny Brown, you in for a treat."
The article notes that Danny spent more than $70,000 clearing samples for the project. "A lot of people cheap. And that's why their music sounds cheap," he said. "I wanna make timeless stuff, so you're gonna have to spend a couple dollars. You could have Rolex or you can have a Swatch."
