Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era are honoring their late friend Capital STEEZ with an animated video for “Herban Legend,” an underground favorite off his mixtape Amerikkkan Korruption.

In the visual created by The Family, they recreate STEEZ’s lyrics as he chills at his crib watching WorldStar videos and smoking on that sticky. Later, he meets up with his homie to re-up on some product for his boys. Then the video takes another turn when it interprets his more abstract rhymes. STEEZ—or as he calls himself, the “Louie Vuitton Genghis Khan”—gets lost in a psychedelic haze before returning to his couch and doing his routine all over again.

This year marked the second annual STEEZ Day festival, which was held in Los Angeles this past July and had a line-up that included A$AP Mob, Danny Brown, and Raury. This video was premiered during the festival, with the Pros and STEEZ’s extended family watching on.

When we spoke to Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, and Nyck Caution earlier this year, they gave an update about STEEZ’s posthumous album King Capital, saying that it is a matter of curating the right amount of tracks for release. “People don’t understand that it’s being worked on, but it’s not something that’s finished and ready to come out,” Nyck told us. “People think we’re holding onto it for whatever reason. It’s the last recording. We’re trying to find as many [tracks] as we can.”
