The "Panda" craze might finally be starting to die down, but of course that means old people are just starting to get hip to it. In a new video, a group of Baby Boomers are given the lyrics to Desiigner's hit song and asked to figure out what they mean. Naturally, this goes horribly but hilariously, with almost all of the participants struggling to figure out just what the hell Desiigner is talking about. To their credit, it took us a while too.
"What happened to people going out and earning money?" one woman asks while reading the line "Niggas up in the bank/We gon' drill the bank/Fuck, we gon' kill the bank." "I feel bad for children growing up with this as a strong influence," says another about the same line.
"I don't get it, I don't know. I don't like this song," says one man as they finished up, summing up how about half of hip-hop fans feel about the ubiquitous hit. "I apologize Desiigner. You don't know me, but I don't know you either... I was not able to gather one thing from this lyric that has anything to do with Grand Theft Auto."
Another participant expressed dismay at the image the song sends to young people. "When his words are so magical and when his ability to put them together is so magical, it's sad to me that we're glorifying these things. I try never to really look at it too hard because it makes me feel really bad," she said.
