Out of nowhere, G.O.O.D. Music's Desiigner just released his debut mixtape, New English, on Tidal. While the sudden release of the project doesn't come as a total surprise since the Brooklyn rapper held a listening session for the project earlier in the week, it is unpredictable that he decided to drop it in the middle of the night. Still, this is the project that people have been waiting for from Desiigner, as most are curious to hear what he has to offer outside of his mega-hit "Panda," which is also featured as the last song on New English.
In total, the project only includes two features, with guest appearances from G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha T and King Savage. The timing of the mixtape release couldn't have been better for Desiigner, as he's set to perform at the BET Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles. Aside from his own solo music, the young G.O.O.D. artist, who was in attendance during Kanye West's "Famous" visual premiere on Friday night, is also prepping a full G.O.O.D. "Panda" remix, which 'Ye first teased during the release of "Champions" a few weeks back.
Whether or not that remix sees the light of day anytime soon will remain to be seen, but the original is still doing just fine and is currently at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. At the moment, it appears that New English is only available through Tidal, which makes sense since Desiigner went the same route for the release of the video for "Panda."
