VIEWS aside, “West” is one of the most important songs to come out of Toronto in 2016. This blissful collaboration between rising crooner River Tiber and soulful IXXI affiliate Daniel Caesar is the definitive song of the “R&B moment” Toronto is having right now.
As of today, the standout single has a video to go along with it. Shot by Keavan Yazdani (the artist responsible for much of IXXI founder Sean Leon’s visuals) and River Tiber, the lo-fi, VHS-stylized clip juxtaposes snapshots of Toronto’s subway system with palm trees and the Hollywood hills, as we follow the pair on their journey “West.”
