Following the colourful, almost techy optimism of his last EP Maybe There, Bad Taste Records' Affelaye is back with a new three-track release called Thirsts (due Apr. 29) and it sees the Bristol producer go deeper into the atmospherics, deeper than we've seen before. He maintains the overall style and aesthetic of past releases, but on the new EP, and on "This Isn't You" in particular, soundscapes are taken to another level with undulating waves of warm synths pulsing steadily through the track. Stepping further and further beyond the parameters of genre classifications, we can only imagine what Affelaye will do next.
