Filmed on VHS (just like in the olden days), Beach Skulls and Mad Brains' "Wood Bines" video is brimming over with nostalgic sentiments. A sole acoustic guitar opens the track before a flood of warm, rich tones quickly follow. Soon enough, Mad Brains adds his world-weary flow to the mix as he tells the story of, in the rapper's words, "the drains of the north, but also the comfort of simplicity." The visual itself sees the two Mancunians wander restlessly through a grey, rain-soaked Manchester while their story plays out. It may sound a bit glib, but there's a subtle optimism to the track, namely the escapist properties of music shared between two friends. Watch the video exclusively above.
