Bringing together a unique blend of Detroit techno and New York garage, Copy Paste Soul is returning to Exploited with a brand new EP, Flare (due Mar. 14). The title track, which you can hear below, is both of these things and yet, in a way, neither of them. A chiming melody shimmers throughout as a nod to the NY sound, while a deep, wheezing bass line underpins it all and harks back to the deep, futuristic funk of classic Detroit techno. On their own you can hear the individual elements, but when brought together they take on a life of their own. The whole, as they say, is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.
