While BJ the Chicago Kid's recently released In My Mind is his second studio album, the Windy City musician seems to be making his first really strong push towards the limelight. For most of his career, BJ has been a behind-the-scenes influence for artists like Stevie Wonder, Usher, and even Kanye West. Now, however, he appears to be taking his secret sauce and using it on his own menu.

Last week, BJ stopped by Complex HQ to sit in on an episode of Well Rounded. In addition to breaking down some of the day's biggest Complex News stories, BJ told us what it's like working with Kendrick Lamar, collaborating with Chance the Rapper on his latest single, "Church," gave us a status update on Jay Rock's health, and discussed his new project, In My Mind. For last week's episode of Well Rounded with Plies, check out the video below.
