Zayn Malik set the internet on fire with the recent release of his debut solo single "Pillow Talk" and the accompanying video starring rumored girlfriend Gigi Hadid. In a new interview on Zach Sang and the Gang, the former One Direction member opened up about how the song came to be. "Basically, I wrote that shortly after I left the band," he said. When asked about having his girlfriend in the video, Zayn basically confirmed his relationship with the supermodel for the first time."Yeah, that was cool. It was something different. We enjoyed it, it was fun. Had a lot of fun on set."
As for the video itself, Zayn revealed that it was mostly his idea. "I wanted it to be representational of the art that I’m looking at at the minute, even just a perspective level, on the surface of it I wanted it be arty, and different and out-there. That was the whole feel for the video, We wanted a dream-feel to it." There has also been speculation about Zayn releasing his debut album, Mind of Mine, on March 25, which is the exact date he left One Direction a year ago. "It’s March 25, it wasn’t planned that way. It works that way. It just seems to coincide with the iTunes launch and everything. Maybe it’s a sign." Check out Zayn's full interview above.
