New Zealand electronic producer Eddie Johnston—better known as RaceBanyon or by his alter ego Lontalius—arrives today with the premiere of his new track "Surface." It's co-produced by DJ Dahi, who is also responsible for the production behind Drake's "Worst Behavior," Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees," and more. Race Banyon recruits London-raised R&B songstress Kenzie May who lends her brand of wistful vocals to the track. A groovy beat sets the tone as Kenzie's vocals bubble to the surface, pulling you into soothing air pockets of electronics soaked in her emotional pleas to reach the top. "'Surface' was the point in the sessions with Dahi that we really started to understand each others strengths and how they could work together," Banyon told Complex over email. "Collaborating is somewhat new to me, and it can be hard, but it can feel real magical when you're both in sync. Kenzie May’s voice fit perfectly with what we created too."

Race Banyon has been growing his brand of electronics and sharing stages with the likes of Jamie XX, Rustie, Ryan Hemsworth, and Kaytranada. More recently, he dropped a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign that was also co-produced by DJ Dahi. "Surface" is the producer's latest offering as part of the Red Bull Sound Select artist roster. Listen to "Surface" below ahead of its official release tomorrow and look out for Banyon to release his debut full-length, I'll Forget, as his alter-ego, Lontalius, next month.
