Nav is a part of that next wave of mysterious Toronto hip-hop. The double-threat vocalist/producer has an elusive air about him that’s not uncommon in the Screwface Capital, but after getting a major look from OVO Sound Radio Episode 13, people are eager to hear more. Co-produced by Mississauga beatmaker Chillaa, “On My Own” is a melodic salute to the self-made, with Nav dropping self-assured bars about a come-up in progress, overtop of atmospheric drones and booming 808s.

“‘On My Own’ was inspired by my own recent experiences. One day, I’m a Rexdale kid, and then the next thing you know, I’m flying out to L.A. for the first time,” Nav told Complex. “I wrote this on my flight home, and It’s about the pressure that comes along with recognition and fame.”
