Gucci Mane, the Atlanta rapper who has been incarcerated on a firearm possession charge since 2013, may be getting released from federal prison very soon.

According to the latest search in Terre Haute’s inmate database, Guwop’s release date has been moved from March 2017 to September 20, 2016. He is currently serving his sentence at the facility in Terre Haute, IN.

Last month, information leaked online that Gucci would reportedly be released from jail in March of 2016. However, 1017 Records’ official Instagram confirmed it was false. He was actually still scheduled for release in March of next year.

There have been plenty of notable artists and producers who have been campaigning for Gucci’s release. Mike WiLL Made-It’s next project, Ransom 2, is dedicated to Gucci, where he’s promised to feature him in some capacity, even though the feds are trying to prevent it. At the same time, Gucci has kept his name relevant over the years by releasing albums and mixtapes at an alarming rate. As Drake once said on "Digital Dash": "Gucci gets out, it’s a problem." Expect a tour from Gucci when he's released as well.
