Just a day after securing the endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has just locked up the support of another prominent name: former teen pop idol Aaron Carter. Yes, you read that correctly, the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter took to Twitter earlier today to lend his weight to Trump's campaign.

@realDonaldTrump Does America want to have a president who FOLLOWS or someone who leads? I vote For @realdonaldtrump

Naturally fans of Carter were equal parts bemused and upset with the singer's decision and took to social media to voice their disappointment.

@authorharpmill OH NO! I was in deep deep love with Aaron Carter as a teenager. This makes me sad.
@aaroncarter THE FACT THAT YOU SUPPORT DONALD TRUMP IS DISGUSTING. FEEL FREE TO UNFOLLOW ME. YOUR MUSIC IS TRASH.
@aaroncarter @realDonaldTrump So you're following a racist reality tv star w the IQ of a Cheeto, who will alienate America from the world
@MaraWritesStuff @aaroncarter @realDonaldTrump I'm not deciding on a candidate until I know who Soliel Moon Frye recommends.
What the hell did @aaroncarter meth head looking ass do this time? I don't keep up with the D-list.
@aaroncarter disgusting! Ignorance! @realDonaldTrump
@aaroncarter then why support someone who wants to build a wall for my people & kick out others? Your fans, families, people who work hard

Who knows if Carter actually believes Trump would make a good President or not, but at the very least, we're all talking about Aaron Carter again. Still no word from Justin Guarini on who he intends to back.
