Last month, former Slew Dem member JT The Goon released his triumphant debut album, King Triton—resolutely storming everyone's end-of-year lists—and now, he's sharing a couple of versions of a brand new cut entitled "Oil On Ice". We say "brand new", but the original first appeared in a Rabit guest mix on Rinse FM's Keysound show in 2013. It remained unreleased for all that time, before finally finding a home on Dusk + Blackdown's Keysound Recordings as part of the Oil On Ice EP (out Jan. 22). As rich in slick melodies and sturdy beats as any of the album cuts, "Oil On Ice" sees The Goon weave an icy melody around a bold grime riddim with plenty of fire in its belly. The upcoming EP will feature three versions of the track, including the one below and "VIP Version 3", which sees the producer slowing the original down to a cool 130 for those more experimental grime mixers.
