For their latest release, Slit Jockey have been shrewd enough to tap up Saturate! Records founder and electronic mad scientist Bios. The EP, Ashki Chronicles, is a five-track affair that, for the most part, updates the classic Eski sound from '04 but with dashes of techno and various shades of club music stirred in. The title track, for example, features ultra-metallic Eski synths coupled with gritty, sawtooth synths and a massive bass line punching its way through the track. Don't slot Bios into the grime folder just yet because, as his back catalogue shows, there's so much more to his record bag than that.
The Ashki Chronicles EP will be released by Slit Jockey on Jan. 8.
