UPDATE 12/7/15: Despite reports that they would appear yesterday, Eagles of Death Metal ended up making their triumphant return to the stage in Paris tonight alongside U2 at the AccorHotels Arena. The two bands performed a cover of Patti Smith's "People Have the Power" together, and then Bono gave them the reigns to close out the show with "I Love You All the Time." This was the band's first public concert since the Paris terrorist attacks. Lead singer Jesse Hughes released a statement afterwards addressing their appearance.
“We want to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everything our brothers in U2 did for us in the aftermath of the November 13 attacks. They reminded us that the bad guys never take a day off, and therefore we rock ’n rollers cannot either… and we never will. We are incredibly grateful to U2 for providing us the opportunity to return to Paris so quickly, and to share in the healing power of rock ‘n roll with so many of the beautiful people – nos amis – of this great city. Thank you to Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam, thank you to their wonderful management, thank you to France, and thank you to everyone in the world who continues to prove that love, joy, and music will always overcome terror and evil. We look forward to fighting the good fight on many more fronts very soon, especially when we pick up our tour in 2016. See you again in February, Paris."

UPDATE 12/6/15: In a statement posted to their official website, U2 denies previous reports that Eagles of Death Metal would be joining the band for their performance in Paris this weekend:
We're back in Paris and it's great to be here. Some people have been saying that Eagles of Death Metal will appear on stage with U2 tonight. This is not the case. We have another surprise guest planned for tonight's show.

In their first interview following the devastating terrorist attacks during their concert at the Bataclan in Paris, Eagles of Death Metal promised that they would reschedule and finish their tour. According to Billboard, the band will restart their halted European tour in Feb. 2016.
The band will also reportedly join U2—who postponed their two Paris shows in wake of the attacks—this Sunday (Dec. 6) at Paris' AccorHotels Arena, according to the Billboard source. The band, along with founding Eagles member Josh Homme who does not usually tour with the band and was not present during the attacks, is said to be performing with U2 for the final song of the night. A representative told Billboard that Eagles of Death Metal have no comment on this appearance. U2 is also playing a second show the next night. That same evening, HBO will premiere U2: Innocence + Experience Live In Paris.
