With his Soul Glitch album still fresh in our ears, Atlanta's Daye Jack returned today with a new track featuring his city's elder statesman Killer Mike. "Hands Up" finds both artists powerfully grappling with police brutality; on the song's hook Jack sings, "Livin' with my head down, hands up / No, no, don't shoot."
i made hands up because i am so sick and tired of the police killing us
. @dayejack Thanks For The Record. It means a lot to the people. Bold move and I'm honored to play a role. Salutes King
The new song follows Jack's Complex-premiered "Rule The World" single from last month.
