Several acts were rumored to be in talks to play the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show, including Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Adele. It's now been confirmed that the final pick is: Coldplay, according to the NFL. The British band has been making headlines recently while promoting their forthcoming album, A Head Full of Dreams. If you're not familiar, frontman Chris Martinrecruited Beyoncé and even Blue Ivy Carter herself to be featured on the album on a song called "Hymn for the Weekend."

So will the popular British band be able to top Katy Perry's performance with Left Shark and Missy Elliott? We will see but hopefully they will bring past collaborators Queen Bey or Rihanna out. According to Pitchfork, Bey is in fact "in talks" to make an appearance. We could definitely get behind that.

Bruno Mars is also reportedly scheduled to perform.  A Head Full Of Dreams drops tomorrow on all streaming services that "don't offer a free option" so look for it anywhere but Spotify.
