We love a bit of DJ Haus over here at Complex. The Unknown To The Unknown boss has been featured numerous times in our Mixes Of The Week series, and with good reason. His selections, and indeed his own productions, are brimming over with personality - something that often slips out of view in the overlapping worlds of house and techno. His new video, for the track "Higher" (taken from Burnin Up, out Nov.13 on Rinse), is no different.
Somehow, the imagery that unfolds in the video manages to be both hypereal and crude, as if the imagination of Tim Burton had a baby with some Windows 95 graphics and then distilled into a music video. Add to that the driving rhythms of the track itself and you're left feeling pretty unsettled. However, if you're like us (a glutton for punishment with a predilection for thumping house music) you probably reached your fourth viewing before you even read this far.
