North London rapper Jordan Sefton is back with "God, JS (ii)" (out Oct. 30 via Damm Records). It's the follow-up to "God, JS (i)", and the sequel could be set to eclipse its predecessor. The first part of the series, released earlier this month, saw Sefton rap effortlessly over a smoky jazz beat. This time around, he spits over a similarly jazzy beat, but it's slightly more upbeat than the first edition. As ever, Sefton's ability to conjure specific images not just with his lyrics but also with the general atmosphere of the track remains as potent as ever. Equally, the potency of both his lyrics and delivery contrast neatly against the bubbly, warped beat; while the beat shimmers and bends, Jordan's razor-sharp diction remains flawlessly crisp.
