According to a new report from the NY Daily News, Coachella festival organizers are looking to bring the musical oasis to New York City. Currently named "Panorama," the fest would take place in Queen's Flushing Meadows Corona Park two weeks after Governor's Ball. However, Panorama's fate is still uncertain. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz told the Daily News "While we encourage public events of any scale that enhance our borough, this proposal appears to raise significant concerns, especially the precedent it would potentially set," before noting details such as traffic and admission price

As expected, the news has left Gov Ball organized a little displeased, to say the least. Founders Entertainment partner Tom Russell who helps run Gov Ball told the Daily News, “The timing of this corporate-run festival would threaten our ability as a small business to continue putting on the kind of event that has showcased the best artists, created hundreds of local jobs and put millions of dollars back into the city’s economy."

While Panorama is only a possibility, Governor's Ball shouldn't plan on being the only big fest in town for too much longer with fest organizers eager to expand their business.
