Katy Perry is best known for her kaleidoscope world of colorful, larger than life pop songs and dancing with Left Shark at the Superbowl. But Katy wasn't always the pop star you see today. When she was first getting her start as Katy Hudson back in 2001, she was a Christian gospel singer and released her self-titled debut album as a full-fledged Christian rock project. Around that same time, Katy was also plugged to sing backup for Christian heavy metal group and TRL favorite P.O.D. You can see her front and center at the end of the band's video for "Goodbye For Now" and again singing backup when they stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno below. WHO KNEW.
