Amber Rose's Mom Turns Kanye West's "30 Showers" Remark Into a Message of Self-Empowerment at SlutWalk Event

The LA event has "a zero tolerance policy" on racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia, or any other kind of bigotry.

After months of well-executed education initiativesAmber Rose kicked off her SlutWalk event in Los Angeles earlier today. The event, described as a "completely inclusive space," aims to make others recognize that various forms of shaming, oppression, and violence have "disproportionately impacted marginalized groups" including women of color, transgender people, sex workers, and many more.

The event started at around 10 a.m. with a proper sign-making session, including various messages of self-empowerment and emotional stances against the unfortunate pervasiveness of slut-shaming. In fact, Amber's mom is reportedly leading the march with a sign that reads "Fuck yo 30 showers," which is an obvious reference to Kanye West's disappointing remarks earlier this year during a Breakfast Club interview:

"She's just soaking in the moment. If Kim had dated me when I first wanted to be with her, there wouldn’t be an Amber Rose. It's very hard for a woman to wanna be with someone that's with Amber Rose. I had to take thirty showers before I got with Kim."

Of course, Rose's fellow SlutWalk activists were just as creative and urgent with their own contributions:

Rose's SlutWalk extends into a festival that's expected to run until 5 p.m., with the official after-party taking place at Supperclub. After all, a united effort aimed at dismantling institutionalized inequalities is always something worth celebrating:
