AJ Tracey

Having bagged one of ten spots on our recent mixtape, #GRIMETIMEWARP, we've certainly been in-tune with the rise of AJ Tracey this year. After dropping his debut EP, The Front, two months ago, the MC from West signals his intention to keep the fire coming by announcing a follow-up project entitled Alex Moran. Set for a release date of December 4, we now have a taste of the project in "Naila"—a raging turn on a Zeph Ellis production, with its blaring horns harking back toOGz-era Dot Rotten. Throwing out vicious rhymes skirting from cultured grime boasts ("a bag on the outfit, casual"), to one of countless Narcos references we've encountered this month, AJ's not in the mood to let up right now and is perfectly capturing the radio-set energy he's come to harness as his own.
