Searching any song, artist, or album on YouTube will immediately generate thousands and thousands of guitar cover videos. The medium is lucrative for some cover artists, as some videos end up clocking nearly as many views as their respective source material. However, the casual YouTuber is then tasked with sifting through undeniably garbage-esque covers to find the occasional gem.

For Chicago native Jacob Brody, simple YouTubery such as a quick cover of a single track or two just wouldn't do. "I learned most of these songs by ear and decided to record my interpretations," Brody tells Reverb of his decision to casually cover the entire Kanye West discography. "The camera only let me record 15-25 minutes, so each 15-25 minute take was done in one attempt. There are mistakes, I know. I switch guitars because some songs are in different tunings. Some songs change keys mid-song."

Maybe Kanye can bring this guy out during the upcoming pair of 808s & Heartbreak shows at the Hollywood Bowl for a proper guitar duel with Mike Dean?
