As the 9th annual Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on all of the incredible highlights the Manifesto team brought us this year.

Manifesto Vol. 9 once again proved that it’s so much bigger than hip-hop, with artistic empowerment taking centre stage over its 5-day, multi-venue run. Artists, dancers, and musicians were brought together under the “One City” theme, showcasing the best and brightest Toronto has to offer.

Let’s run it back. A K U A, Keita Juma, and the one and only future bounce ambassador GoldLink tore it up at The Hoxton as part of Red Bull Sound Select. Bambii took home top honours in the DJ soundclash, and DysFUNKtional Family held it down at the Rumble At The Roundhouse. The Future Sounds showcase gave us a look at the next generation, including Clairmont The Second, a l l i e, and Spek Won. Manifesto blessed Yonge & Dundas Square with an all-day party, and brought graffiti artists, breakdancers, and Melanie Fiona along for the ride. Finally, over 20 artists took over the Super Wonder Gallery for the Common Grounds artshow, featuring the ultra hype 6ix x 6 photo exhibit.

If you missed any of the action, or if you just want to relive the glory, you can watch the official recap video for Manifesto Vol. 9 above. Check MNFSTO.com regularly, and stay wise to all of the events and projects they’ve got poppin’ year round. See you next time!
