We talk about "organic textures" a lot in electronic music. Usually, it simply means "doesn't sound electronic," but in the case of Austrian multi-instrumentalist Manu Delago it describes the rich, multi-layered and eclectic palettes he employs in his music. Not only is he a highly respected multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter, he's also a key member of Björk's live band. "Chemical Reaction", taken from his deservedly acclaimed Silver Kobalt album, has just been remixed by fellow Austrian Albin Janoska and the results hit all the markers for what makes a remix great. The balance of acoustic and electronic elements is played up and the infectious chorus deftly accentuated. We can only hope the results will spur the two producers on to collaborate more often.
