There's no questioning DJ Q's garage and bassline credentials. His productions and DJ sets have defined the sound almost since its inception. Equally, New Jersey crooner Jaheim's R&B credentials are untouchable. To build up hype for the Rulin: Xpress 2 event at Ministry of Sound on Aug. 22, which Q will be playing, he's reworked the classic Jaheim track, "Just In Case" from his 2000 album Ghetto Love. As Q so rightly observes: "Garage is really healthy at the moment; sounds reminiscent of the old school vibe are in the clubs and all over the radio. It's a great time for the genre and its only gonna get bigger, especially as the lines between house and garage become more blurred." So what better time to revamp an R&B classic with some super-slick garage sounds? Listen to the edit exclusively below.
