Since launching in 2008, King Of The Dot has become one of the world’s best-known battle rap leagues. From its humble beginnings as a small, informal gathering that used alleyways and public parks as venues, KOTD founder Organik has cultivated a movement with a massive audience, and a quickly blossoming media empire.

Over the weekend, King Of The Dot hosted World Domination 5, an international grudge match between battlers from Canada, the U.S., England, Scotland, and South Africa. Every year, World Domination is a big ticket event for the battle rap community, bringing out guests like Drake, deadmau5, Method Man, Raekwon, and more, which had everyone in the building wondering who would stop by this year.

Friday’s matchups saw Philadelphia rapper Rone face off against Toronto’s very own Kid Twist, a battle that was bound to bound to get charged up, given recentrelations between the rappers’ home cities. Rone fired off a few bars of anti-Toronto sentiment, including a jab at Toronto councillor Norm Kelly, a highly publicized Drake defender who became embroiled in a Twitter beef with Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill last month. Kid Twist responded in the best way possible:

“You thought I was gonna let him talk shit about Norm Kelly? Like I'd let my city councillor be blatantly disgraced. But if you wanna say some shit to Norm, then you can say it to his face.”

Out steps Norm Kelly himself, who then assumes the infamous back-to-back pose with Kid Twist for the finishing move. Mic drop. Despite Norm’s often questionable politics, his team definitely knows how to finesse the Internet. You can watch the highlight reel-worthy moment unfold in the video above, and keep it locked to KOTD’s YouTube channel for more videos from World Domination 5.
