The video for south London singer D/C's "I Love Gold" is neatly put together and, on the face of it, seems to be a fast-paced jaunt through pop culture's most decadent moments. We see Jessica Rabbit sauntering through a smoky club, various rappers flashing their grills and various piles of gold and cash. Dig a little deeper, however, and images of abject poverty begin to emerge, images that sit starkly against the symbols of opulence.

These scenes of poverty illustrate the flipside to the glamorous worlds that gold and diamonds permeate; a flipside where communities are laid to waste and suffering is endemic. It's a sophisticated, inspiring addition to the socio-political conversation and presents us with an artist whose outlook on life is full-formed, though not without questions of his own. And it doesn't look like he'll be leaving without answers to those questions.
