This was bound to happen. Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" has officially tied the record as the longest-running #1 hip-hop single on the Billboard Hot 100 ever. Now in its 12th week at the top spot, Khalifa and Charlie Puth's Furious 7 Paul Walker-tribute ties with the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" (2009) and Eminem's "Lose Yourself" (2002) as the hip-hop songs with the longest record at number one on the singles chart. (For reference, the runner-up, "I'll Be Missing You," held onto #1 for 11 weeks in 1997.)

As Billboard reports, sales for Khalifa's "See You Again" are actually slowing down considerably and the track will face tough competition for the chart's summit next week to actually break the record in question.
