The West Coast is alive and well these days, and up and coming rapper Tyler Thomasis looking to contribute to the reign. The LA spitter, raised on a healthy diet of East Coast influences like Jay, Biggie, Andre 3000, Big Pun and Erykah Badu, has been accruing a steady buzz since his 2012 track "Whiskey on the Rocks" earned him a studio invite from No I.D.

Since then he's released two projects, including 2013's free EP Higher Learning. Now he's back with another EP slated for free release on August 18, titled Birds Eye View and produced by Grammy-winning producers The Stereotypes. Today, he premieres Shin Nagasaki and Hunter Lyon-directed video for "Passport," where he mobs around Japan with his crew over production from The Stereotypes. Peep the video above and continue to check for Tyler as his EP approaches—in the meantime, get hip to more of his music over on his Soundcloud.
