Countless thinkpieces have been written about Bristol and the "Bristol sound" over the years—from trip-hop and D&B to dubstep, the city has a rich history of bass-oriented music. EVM128 is the latest of Bristol's exports to inject that heritage into his music. But he doesn't stop there; there's a few different sounds weaving in and out of his new "Strangers" single. For the most part, it's bonafide house music, but beneath that we get broken-beat drum fills and shades of UKG rearing their heads. Listen to "Strangers" below, and get it when it drops on August 14.
Premiere: EVM128's "Strangers" Injects Some Broken Beat Into The Deep House Template
Deep house, garage, broken beat... it's all in there.
