Producer Krs (a.k.a. Kristopher Allen) is known for injecting an atmospheric bounce into his bootlegs and remixes, and this flip of Majid Jordan’s “My Love” is a fierce twist on the heartfelt original. Krs adds distorted 808s and scattershot drums to “My Love,” and vocals from Drake and Majid Al Maskati sound right at home in their new atmospheric context.

As part of growing Toronto collective BEVSTMODE, as well as his own label Film Noir, the Jamaica-based, Toronto-bred 18-year-old has flipped recent selections by JAHKOY, Roy Wood$, and D.R.A.M., and contributed original work to Jamaican dancehall staple Young Vibez Productions, connecting him with Vybz Cartel, Mavado, Popcaan, and Beenie Man. Apparently a return to Toronto is in the works for Krs, but until then, we’ll just have to enjoy this sound from afar.
