2015 is going to be a busy year for Dej The Ego. Though he's been making music for a little while now, initially as a grime MC, he's about to release his debut EP and then three more EPs before the year is out. "Rhetorical" is lifted from the first of these self-produced EPs and takes its name from the number of rhetorical questions posed in the track. Those questions are posed in a hypnotic, almost spoken word flow that would get woozy were it not driven by his own urgent production style. Elsewhere, this slower delivery is replaced by a more melodic style that takes its cue from the half-sung-half-rapped style employed by the likes of Migos and Young Thug. Take a spin below.
