Today AFROPUNK FEST announced the lineup for its flagship NYC festival featuring Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Kelis, Danny Brown and more who will be taking the stage August 22-23 at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park. A day ahead of the festival, AFROPUNK will be throwing their first annual AFROPUNK FANCY DRESS BALL with special guests Grace Jones, Cakes Da Killa & MikeQ to raise funds for their AFROPUNK Global Initiative: an alliance dedicated to moving the needle of progress closer to a holistic, democratic and enlightened representation of people of color within all facets of society.
In response to the 60,000 attendees at last year's event, this year AFROPUNK will be charging admission to assure entry. However, there will also be an earned ticket program to give fans the chance to volunteer for an earned ticket with the volunteer program aiming to create awareness for organizations in need, provide access to an engaged pool of valuable resources and help deliver a sustainable impact to communities.
