Tyler, The Creator recently sat down with Tavis Smiley and PBS to talk about his new album, Cherry Bomb, musical influences, how the public sees him, and much more. During the 12-minute interview, Tyler spoke on what it was like to work with Roy Ayers on the album, and how it felt to have someone who he's looked up to forever appreciate his music. "To hear someone like him who has been doing this since forever to acknowledge someone like me is awesome," Tyler said.

Tyler also talked about his youth, and how he wasn't really engaged in school because they weren't teaching him things he wanted to learn about. "Maybe because I'm defiant and it was the structure and it was being pushed down my throat that made me say, 'whoa I don't want to learn this,' but now I'm curious on what's what and what is this made of," he said. The full interview can be viewed above, while Tyler's Cherry Bomb album is available on iTunes here.
