Princeton Students Don't Want Big Sean to Perform at Their School

Students allege Big Sean's songs promote misogyny and rape culture.

Students at Princeton University are petitioning to have Big Sean dropped from an upcoming concert funded by the student government. According to The Daily Princetonian, two students researched Sean's lyrics after seeing a promotional video for the show during which he reportedly said a misogynistic phrase. Now, there's a petition that cites that his songs songs promote misogyny and rape culture—and students don't want him to perform because of that.

"I'm sure every singer has a questionable song," Basaldua told the student paper. "But there are a significant amount of his songs that deal with this, and I think there are a lot of other artists in the same genre even that would have been a better choice."

Right now, the petition has over 500 signatures but according to the studio government, it's too late to make changes for the May 3 show. We'll update with any details when they become available.
