As with many of the best artists at the moment, Cleo is a difficult one to pin down. Having shed her Mz Bratt alias, Cleo is stripping back more than just her persona with the latest single from her Beauty For Ashes EP. The video for the title track pays no mind to the idea that a video needs to be a spectacle. Instead, Cleo and the creators of the video (director and co-director Rio Romaine and Marco Grey) opt to showcase nothing but her vocal talents, flitting effortlessly between the pained R&B lament of the chorus and the spoken-word-meets-rap verses. "I wanted to keep this video very simple and open," says Cleo. "I wanted people to see my flaws, my scars and blemishes. This song is about baring your feelings in a tainted relationship and I want people to feel that energy when they watch this video." Watch the video exclusively above and listen to the Beauty For Ashes EP here if you haven't already.
