It's undeniable that Korean culture is making its way into mainstream media more and more every year. Keith Ape tore down SOB's earlier this month with Okasian, Dumbfoundead, and Jay All Day. With the help of food trucks, Korean food is becoming known for its healthy elements more so than its pungent smell. I've seen more K-Dramas on iPads of Americans in the last month than I would ever imagine. And now K-Pop is ready to steal all of our hearts away from what's left of One Direction.

The growing Korean convention, KCON, started in 2012 in Los Angeles and has now grown in popularity to the point of adding a second location. On August 8, you can head to Newark's Prudential Center for a series of panels, big name performances, and the chance to network with fellow Korean culture enthusiasts.

Their website touts why you want to get familiar with Hallyu (anything Korean culture related):

Get ready to ignite your feelz at the one-and-only convention dedicated to “All Things Hallyu!” KCON is the one place where you can experience and celebrate every single element of Hallyu from K-Pop right down to K-Food!

Hallyu fans already know that KCON is the only place you can interact with your favorite stars, and fangirl in-sync at spectacular concerts, stimulating panels, and dynamic workshops--only at KCON!

You can stay up to date with lineups and ticketing for the convention on their website.
