Robert Lopuski directed the Watch the Throne documentary back in 2012, and now he's back with a short doc on the young New York City hip-hop scene. We're Gonna Be Lords enlists Action Bronson, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, and Le1f  to capture the space inhabited by new artists.

"There's this almost transcendent quality of being nobody in pursuit of something great—the idea of becoming a Lord," Lopuski said. "It felt fragile but charged, raw, dream like, ritualistic."

Interviews with the rappers are complemented by bizarre, occult-like scenes that are scripted. Lopuski said of the creative decision, "We basically shot a series of vignettes, almost like narrative fragments, with the intention that they could somehow create a level of alchemy between true docu material and these other 'moments.'"
