We may not have the backstory on the origins of Carly Rae Jepsen's new video for "I Really Like You," but in an ideal world it stars Tom Hanks because she heard Drake's Forrest Gump line ("I run this shit they're like "Go Forrest. Run Forrest, go Forrest.") on "0-100." Alas, we don't live in an ideal world. Still, Tom Hanks blesses the streets of Lower Manhattan (that's Bond St. for you locals) with his presence. He even indulges a fan's offering of a ping pong paddle (again, a Forrest Gump trademark) and he uses the running emoji, which itself may or may not have been inspired by Forrest—again, in an ideal world.

Eventually, Justin Bieber joins Tom and Carly for a flash mob in an empty SoHo street. Does it top "Call Me Maybe"? The jury's still out. It's peak saccharine pop, you love it.
