Last week, Chicago MC Tree released his TrapGenius album, a 10-track project with no features and one track produced by Blue Sky Black Death that pulls from his upbringing in Chicago's Cabrini-Green projects. Today, he drops the harrowing video for the title track, directed, edited and shot by Aaron Perkins Jr. The unscripted visuals start off with a sample of an ABC 7 report, similiar newscasts are heard throughout his entire project, and takes viewers into one of the grittiest scenes we've seen in a music video in some time. Like his entire project, "Trap Genius" showcases not only his soul-trap sounds but his ability to go beyond that, all while detailing the gritty realities of his hometown, and his life.

You can stream his new album in full below, and as we said before, stop sleeping.
