There's something in the water over in New Zealand right now, and today, Auckland pop artist Thomston, the solo alias of 19-year-old singer and producer Thomas Stoneman, proves just that. He's gearing up to drop a new EP, Backbone, on Apr. 6—and after the success of Argonaut, and his track, "Collarbones," his latest premiere will catapult his success to an entirely different level.

On "Grey," Thomston perfectly captures the ability to balance pop and a splash of R&B on a track that's essentially about friends whose ambitions lead them to move away from one another. With lines like, "Will we pick up if we leave it off?/Can we start again once we have stopped?” you'll be calling your high school crew to catch up in no time. "Grey" is off of his forthcoming EP, Backbone, which drops next month.

Keep your Lorde comparisons minimal, even though he's currently working with her management team Saiko, as well. Read more about him over on Pigeons & Planes right now, and stream his new song "Grey" below.
